GENERAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Disconnect the vehicle battery: Before you begin installation, be sure to disconnect the ground terminal of the vehicle battery to avoid short circuits and electric shock.
- Suitable installation location: First, find a suitable installation location for the device. Make sure that there is enough space to install the cables and that they are not kinked and that sufficient strain relief is guaranteed.
- Adequate cooling: Make sure that a product that is connected to the vehicle electrical system receives sufficient cooling at the installation location. Do not install the product in closed housings that are too small without air circulation or near heat-radiating parts or electronic controls of the vehicle.
- Do not mount on vibrating parts: Under no circumstances should you mount an amplifier on a bass cabinet or other vibrating parts, as this could cause the components inside to vibrate loose and seriously damage the device.
- Do not damage vehicle components: When installing or drilling holes, ensure that no safety-relevant parts that are standard in the vehicle, such as electronic components, seat belts, fuel lines, fuel tank and cables, are damaged or removed.
- Do not compromise safety-critical systems: Do not use bolts or nuts of the brake or steering system or any other safety-relevant system for installation or ground connection. Otherwise there is a risk of fire or driving safety is impaired.
- Fastening: Securely attach the product and other related components to the vehicle. Otherwise, they could come loose while driving and become dangerous projectiles in the passenger compartment, causing damage and injuries.
- Voltage drops: Powerful amplifiers cause very large voltage drops with high power output and require very high currents. In order not to put excessive strain on the vehicle's electrical system, it is recommended to install a buffer capacitor (also called Powercap), which acts as a buffer in parallel with the amplifier and the power source. Please seek advice from a specialist retailer.
- Avoid moisture and dust: Install the product in the vehicle so that it is protected from high humidity and dust. If moisture or dust gets into the device, it may cause malfunction and damage to the product.
- Correct polarity: When installing, always pay attention to the correct polarity of the connections. Incorrect connections pose a risk of fire, short circuit and damage to the product.
- Separate cabling: During installation, keep all power supply and audio signal cables as short as possible. As a general rule, avoid routing them along the same side of the vehicle, as this can cause electromagnetic interference. It is preferable to route them separately using the vehicle's right and left cable channels.
- Ensure cables do not cause obstructions: Route connection cables so that they do not interfere with vehicle operation while driving. Cables that could snag near the steering wheel, gear shift, or brake pedal can lead to extremely dangerous situations. Route cables to ensure they do not get caught in moving parts (such as seat rails) or become damaged by sharp edges or corners.
- Use cable insulation/protection: When routing a cable through a hole in a metal panel, use a rubber grommet to protect the cable from damage caused by the metal edges of the opening.
- Do not strip cable insulation: Do not strip the insulation from any cables belonging to the product or vehicle, for example, to power other devices. Instead, use suitable distribution blocks or professional-grade accessories. Failure to do so may exceed the cable's current-carrying capacity, creating a risk of fire or electric shock.
