EU Regulation 2023/988 (GPSR)

Intended use: This product was developed exclusively for permanent installation and use in vehicles. Any other use is at your own risk. The product is only designed for operation in a vehicle with an on-board voltage of +12 V or + 24 V with negative ground. Please note the technical data of the product. Use the purchased product exclusively for the purpose specified in its operating instructions or product description in order to avoid damage and danger. Please note the operating instructions included with the product.

Preliminary information: Before installation, carefully read the enclosed operating instructions, product description and, if necessary, the compatibility list for the relevant vehicle.

Vehicle safety: Follow all safety-related instructions in your vehicle's manual to ensure safe installation and use in any car, SUV, truck, van or RV.

National traffic regulations: Always observe the traffic regulations of the country in which the device is operated. EU traffic rules prohibit viewing moving images or films while driving if an existing screen is installed on the product within the driver's sight. Only look at the screen for the navigation function and then only for a short time to avoid distraction. Follow local traffic regulations at all times.

Vehicle battery: Please ensure that after installation with the engine off, the vehicle battery is not completely discharged. An electrical consumer that should only be operated when the engine is running could discharge the vehicle battery to such an extent that the vehicle can no longer be started.

Operation: As a driver, only operate the device if this is absolutely necessary and driving safety is not significantly impaired. The same applies to looking at any screen or display that may be present. Do not perform any operations on the product that could require your attention for a long period of time. It is better to stop the vehicle at a safe place on the side of the road before performing such operations, otherwise there is a risk of an accident.

Navigation: A product with route guidance is not a substitute for your personal judgment or perception. The navigation system's suggested routes should never be used as a reason to ignore local traffic regulations or to enter dangerous situations. Your personal assessment of traffic or your knowledge of safe driving is more important. Always adapt your driving style to the current traffic situation. Do not follow suggested routes if the navigation system instructs you to drive unsafely or illegally.

Accessories: Please only use the original accessories provided or suitable accessories that are compatible with the product. If you connect an external device, you should first read the operating instructions for the external device and make sure that it is compatible. Avoid connecting an incompatible external device.

Operating system: If your product is operated with an operating system, when installing or commissioning third parties, ensure that applications, apps, plugins and files are virus-free and compatible. Otherwise, there is a risk that the operating system will no longer function properly and will need to be reinstalled.

Professional installation: Installation usually requires in-depth knowledge of vehicle electrical and mechatronics. Do not attempt to install the product yourself if you do not have the necessary expertise to do so. In this case, it is better to leave the installation to a specialist company, as professional installation is absolutely necessary for safe operation. This particularly applies to the connection to the +12V or +24V on-board electrical system as well as in connection with safety-relevant vehicle components. This can result in unwanted interactions with the vehicle electrical system and vehicle mechanics, and installation without the appropriate specialist knowledge can lead to defects in the product and vehicle itself and, in the worst case, to vehicle fires.

Opening the device: In the event of a malfunction, never open the product casing. If you still need to open the housing to replace a fuse or to configure plug contacts, never do this during operation and disconnect the product from the power supply. Otherwise there is a risk of accident, fire or electric shock.

Fault/Malfunction: Do not continue to use the device if a fault or malfunction occurs that you cannot resolve yourself. Refer to the “Troubleshooting” section. Otherwise, injuries or damage to the device may occur. In the event of a defect, contact the seller of your product.

Defective Fuse: Replace defective fuses only with equivalent fuses of the same type. Otherwise there is a risk of fire or electric shock.

Safe operation & hearing protection: Once installed correctly, the product poses no danger during normal operation. When it comes to audio products, however, it should be noted that persistently high volume levels when listening to music or playing audio content can lead to irreparable hearing damage. Therefore, please always adjust the volume to a healthy level so that you can still hear warning signals (e.g. police sirens) and relevant traffic noises in the vehicle.

Danger to children: Keep the small parts of the product away from small children. If such items are swallowed, there is a risk of serious injury. In this case, see a doctor immediately. In principle, children under 12 years of age should not use the product.

Care & cleaning: Do not use strong chemical cleaners, solvents or water to clean the product. For cleaning, use a slightly damp cotton cloth with a soft surface using suitable special cleaners for electronic devices. Do not damage or scratch an existing screen or display with sharp objects or operate the screen with hard objects.

Conformity: The purchased product complies with the applicable EU regulations and harmonized standards for the respective product category. Please note any information in the enclosed operating instructions.
